Evidence-based practices in mental health care for sexual and gender diversity

REGISTRATION

OPEN

In recent years, psychologists have increasingly been called upon to provide clinical interventions with individuals from sexual and gender diverse populations across a wide range of healthcare and service contexts. These interventions require the systematic and continuous updating of scientific, clinical, and ethical knowledge, particularly in light of recent revisions to contemporary diagnostic classifications, including the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11), which introduces substantive modifications in the conceptualization of experiences related to identity and sexual health.

Within this context, it is essential that you have access to clear and updated professional references grounded in empirical evidence and current ethical guidelines. Such references support the development of rigorous, culturally sensitive clinical interventions adapted to the contemporary realities of these populations. Strengthening specific competencies in this domain therefore constitutes an essential component of continuing professional education and responsible professional practice.
