Clinical Team

Ana Luisa Romero Pimentel is a licensed psychologist in Quebec, specializing in working with adults facing grief, anxiety, burnout, post-traumatic stress, and depression. Her goal is to promote emotional well-being through a humanistic and integrative approach, tailored to each person’s unique needs and cultural background.

She has an extensive academic background, including a Ph.D. in Psychology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Her practice integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with humanistic perspective, recognizing culture and identity as key elements in the psychotherapeutic process.

In addition to her clinical work, Doctor of Psychology (Ph.D.) Romero is a researcher with scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals. She is a national and international speaker on mental health topics and currently serves as the Canada Delegate for the Interamerican Society of Psychology. Her work bridges research and practice, ensuring that her interventions are grounded in the latest scientific evidence.

She offers individual psychotherapy in Spanish and English, providing a compassionate and supportive space where clients can develop the emotional tools needed to navigate the present and understand their past. She firmly believes that difficult moments don’t have to be faced alone and is committed to guiding her clients toward resilience and personal growth.

Beatriz Vega Loyo is a licensed psychologist in Quebec with over 20 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and their families, particularly in contexts of disability and social vulnerability.

Her approach is systemic, relational, and intercultural, integrating the family, school, and community environments into each therapeutic process. Her practice is grounded in the belief that emotional well-being is strengthened when individual strengths are recognized in connection with support networks and cultural context.

Beatriz holds a master’s degree in psychotherapy, as well as specialized diplomas in grief counseling and child therapy. Her career was shaped at Fundación Teletón México, where for over two decades she coordinated clinical teams and led the development of a national model for family psychological care, currently implemented in more than 20 pediatric rehabilitation centers (CRIT).

Throughout her career, she has created parental support groups, facilitated training spaces for mental health professionals, and participated in community initiatives focused on inclusion, development, and the well-being of children with functional diversity.

Ana Koehrmann is a Therapist Specializing in Human Relationships with a background in Psychology from Mexico. She works from a humanistic approach, viewing each person as a unique individual with the potential to grow and transform their life.

Her goal is to support clients on their journey of self-discovery and emotional development, providing them with tools to improve their relationships and achieve overall well-being.

Maryuris Mendoza Echenique is a candidate for the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ) and practices under the supervision of Milena Rodríguez Escobar, Psychologist. She holds postgraduate degrees in Clinical Psychology.

Her clinical practice focuses on individual psychotherapy with adolescents and adults, as well as family therapy, and her participation in prevention programs, including suicide prevention initiatives in university settings. She also has experience in psychotherapeutic work with individuals living with chronic illnesses.

She is distinguished by her ethical, structured, and person-centered approach, offering a safe, respectful, and developmentally tailored psychotherapeutic space that addresses the emotional and developmental needs of each patient.

Mayerlyn Arteaga Delgado holds studies in Psychology and a master's in Education from a Diversity Perspective. With over 14 years of experience, she has dedicated her career to supporting individuals, families, and communities through a compassionate and integrative psychosocial approach.

Since 2020, she has worked as a Psychosocial Intervenor, and in 2024, she stepped into the role of Coordinator, deepening her commitment to helping migrant communities and individuals affected by conflict. Her work is rooted in the belief that every person has unique strengths and the ability to adapt and thrive, even in the face of challenges.

Mayerlyn is passionate about creating a safe and supportive space where migrants can navigate the emotional and psychological aspects of their adaptation process. She focuses on empowering her clients, helping them develop personal resources and protective factors that promote well-being and a sense of belonging in their new environment.

Carol Vertiz Kroetzsch is a psychology intern in the process of obtaining equivalency with the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ), under the supervision of PhD. Carmen Quintana, in Psychology. She has more than 20 years of professional experience in psychosocial support and is currently specializing in developing clinical competencies for psychological care with a culturally sensitive and holistic approach to well-being.

Ph.D. Carmen Quintana is a clinical psychologist with more than 30 years of experience and an established leading figure in clinical supervision and the training of new generations of psychologists in Quebec. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Université de Montréal and has an extensive background in university-level teaching in clinical, health, and developmental psychology.

Specialized in academic and clinical supervision, she has guided doctoral candidates and psychologists undergoing equivalency processes at institutions such as the Université de Montréal, UQAM, and the Université de Sherbrooke. Her integrative approach combines psychodynamics, systemic therapy, emotion-focused interventions, and an intercultural perspective, ensuring comprehensive, rigorous, and culturally sensitive training.

Ph.D. Carmen Quintana is also committed to research and community action, having collaborated on intervention projects for youth as well as with organizations supporting vulnerable individuals and their families.

Juliana Gómez is an intern in psychology (under the supervision of PhD. Carmen Quintana), who holds a Master’s degree in Education and Counselling Psychology from McGill University. She brings to her clinical work a strong academic foundation and diverse experience as a clinical counsellor, researcher, and executive producer in psychosocial and educational projects.

Her therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from humanistic–existential traditions while incorporating psychodynamic strategies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Juliana is particularly interested in supporting clients as they explore meaning, navigate life transitions, and strengthen resilience in the face of anxiety, depression, relational challenges, and intercultural stress.

María Camila Cortés Ardila is an internationally trained psychologist currently completing her equivalency process with the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (under the supervision of PhD Geneviève Bloch-Torrico). She provides individual psychotherapy for adolescents and adults, using an integrative approach that combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and systemic perspectives.

Her academic research explored the adaptation processes and meanings of migration within the Colombian community in Quebec, which deepened her commitment to intercultural mental health.

She brings a culturally sensitive lens to her work, supporting individuals navigating adaptation, stress, anxiety, and relational challenges.

Lily Jiménez Dabdoub is an Art Therapist who works from a decolonial and culturally responsive perspective, integrating art, identity, and healing. She holds a Master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapies from Concordia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Mexico.
Her approach bridges art, culture, and neuroscience, drawing from her research in neuroaesthetics and neurocognition to understand how creative processes support emotional regulation and resilience. Lily offers art therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, particularly those navigating migration, cultural transitions, trauma, and grief.
She is also the founder of NeuroLotus Art Therapy, an initiative that promotes art as a decolonial and transformative practice that transcends language and fosters belonging, empowerment, and emotional well-being.

Laura Tabares Hernandez is a Psychosocial Intervention Provider, offering psychosocial support to adults within the clinic’s professional and regulatory framework. Her approach is warm, reflective, and structured, and she conceives intervention as a collaborative space of accompaniment and shared work.
Her practice focuses on exploring lived experiences, emotions, and relational dynamics to support understanding and promote sustainable changes in daily life. Laura works with individuals to identify relational patterns, as well as personal and social internal resources, with the goal of strengthening autonomy and emotional stability.
Her areas of focus include emotion regulation, migration-related experiences, relational and couple difficulties, sexuality, gender and LGBTQ+ diversity, life transitions, stress, anxiety, depressive symptoms, experiences of violence, and trauma, within a psychosocial and supportive scope of practice.
Laura holds a Master’s degree in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology.

Ana Celia Garcia — Communications and Patient Experience Coordinator

She is responsible for communications and the image of Oak Intercultural Psychology. Her work focuses on building bridges between the clinic and our digital community, ensuring that information is clear, accessible, and culturally sensitive. Through social media management, informative content, and institutional presence, she helps ensure that each person feels supported from their first contact with Oak.

Mtra. Ana Canhoto — Benefits Coordinator

Ana Canhoto coordinates the benefits processes for patients at Oak Intercultural Psychology. Her work includes managing procedures with the CNESST, IVAC, refugee programs, and humanitarian processes, ensuring that each person can access psychological services in a clear, supported, and respectful manner. Her approach combines human sensitivity, administrative efficiency, and a deep commitment to the well-being of the community.
